The National Museum

'Národni Muzeum' (the National Museum) is located in the 'Nové Mesto' (New Town), in Mustek (center of Prague). Mustek means bridge, the name comes from the middle age, when a bridge crossed the moat of the Old Town’s walls here. The National Museum dominates the 'Václavské Námestí' (Wenceslas Square), a 750 meter long boulevard (at our back).

The entrance hall of the National Museum is memorable, a very elegant staircase. The theme of the museum is mainly archaeological history, featuring an insight into Indonesian life downstairs. Followed by artefacts and remains from ancient European settlers.

In this neo-Renaissance building constructed in 1885-1890 there’s an interesting Czech history museum.
